Others’ days<\/p>\n

are<\/p>\n

numbered<\/p>\n

as<\/p>\n

they<\/p>\n

set<\/p>\n

out<\/p>\n

Racing to be favoured by life’s breasts<\/p>\n

service<\/p>\n

majesty’s<\/p>\n

royal<\/p>\n

her<\/p>\n

on<\/p>\n

White saviours murder<\/p>\n

Constructing intractable railways
\nTo take home the spoils
\nLaying up streets of gold
\nPreaching we will find ours in the afterlife
\nThey built up walls
\nThat flimsy visa paper<\/p>\n

Ripping<\/p>\n

apart<\/p>\n

our<\/p>\n

lands,<\/p>\n

families<\/p>\n

and<\/p>\n

minds<\/p>\n

Turning back to point a finger at us<\/p>\n

Scream You Savage!<\/span><\/p>\n

But the other four point back at them and<\/p>\n

Duduzile S. Ndlovu,<\/strong> is a postdoctoral fellow at the African Centre for Migration and Society, University of the Witwatersrand. Her research is focused on migration in the global south using arts-based research methods as a form of decolonising knowledge production. She wrote her PhD on, Zimbabwean migrants\u2019 memorials of Gukurahundi violence using performance, poetry, music and film and translated the thesis into poetry to access a wider and non-academic audience. She was awarded the\u00a0Newton Advanced Fellowship (2018-2020) at the Centre of African Studies, University of Edinburgh.
