Ndlovu<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Living longer than ever possible<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Others&#8217; days<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\">are<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 120px;\">numbered<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 200px;\">as<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 240px;\">they<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 280px;\">set<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 320px;\">out<\/p>\n<p>Racing to be favoured by life&#8217;s breasts<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 360px;\">service<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 320px;\">majesty&#8217;s<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 240px;\">royal<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 200px;\">her<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 160px;\">on<\/p>\n<p>White saviours murder<\/p>\n<p>Constructing intractable railways<br \/>\nTo take home the spoils<br \/>\nLaying up streets of gold<br \/>\nPreaching we will find ours in the afterlife<br \/>\nThey built up walls<br \/>\nThat flimsy visa paper<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 160px;\">Ripping<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 200px;\">apart<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 240px;\">our<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 280px;\">lands,<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 320px;\">families<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 400px;\">and<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 440px;\">minds<\/p>\n<p>Turning back to point a finger at us<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 280px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">Scream You Savage!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>But the other four point back at them and<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Duduzile S. Ndlovu,<\/strong> is a postdoctoral fellow at the African Centre for Migration and Society, University of the Witwatersrand. Her research is focused on migration in the global south using arts-based research methods as a form of decolonising knowledge production. She wrote her PhD on, Zimbabwean migrants\u2019 memorials of Gukurahundi violence using performance, poetry, music and film and translated the thesis into poetry to access a wider and non-academic audience. She was awarded the\u00a0Newton Advanced Fellowship (2018-2020) at the Centre of African Studies, University of Edinburgh.
